In Pain? Call Early and We Will Get You In

Emergency dental care covers pain that will not settle, swelling, bleeding, a tooth that has broken or come out, and a crown or denture that has failed at the worst moment. Our Davie dental office holds room through the week for exactly this, and many urgent problems are seen the same day.

Room Held Open Through the Week

If you are in pain or something breaks, call us as early as you can. We keep room in our schedule to see urgent problems as soon as possible during the week, often the same day, so you are not left waiting when it matters most. Patients from Griffin Road and the surrounding Davie neighborhoods reach our dental office quickly, and we would rather hear about it early in the day than at closing.

What to Do Before You Get Here

Rinse gently with warm water and keep the area clean. If a tooth has come out, hold it by the crown rather than the root, keep it in milk or your own saliva, and bring it with you. For swelling, a cold compress on the outside of the cheek helps. Call us while you do all of this, so we can be ready when you walk in.

Leave In Better Shape Than You Came In

If a tooth cannot be saved and it shows when you smile, we plan for that in the same conversation as the extraction. Dr. Garcia is firm about it: patients do not have to leave the office without teeth. A temporary solution on the day, and the proper replacement planned once everything has settled, is how we handle it.

Patient questions

What patients ask us

How much does emergency dental care cost in Davie, FL?

An emergency visit is priced in two parts: the appointment that gets you comfortable and identifies the problem, and the treatment that follows. We give you both figures before we go ahead. Most plans contribute to emergency care, we are out of network by choice and file for you, and CareCredit and Cherry are available.

What should I do if a tooth is knocked out?

Pick the tooth up by the crown, never the root, rinse it gently if it is dirty, and put it in milk or hold it in your cheek. Then call us right away. Time is the thing that matters most with a knocked-out tooth, and the first hour is worth far more than the second.

How long does an emergency dental appointment take?

An emergency appointment usually runs between thirty minutes and an hour, long enough to take an image, find the cause and get you out of pain. Definitive treatment sometimes follows at a second visit, once the infection or swelling has settled. We tell you which of those you are looking at before you leave.

Can a broken tooth be saved, or does it have to come out?

Plenty of broken teeth can be saved, and that is the first question we ask rather than the last. What decides it is how far the break runs below the gum and whether enough solid tooth remains to hold a crown. We look properly and show you the image before recommending removal.

What happens if I wait and hope the pain goes away?

Dental pain that fades has usually not resolved. Very often the nerve inside the tooth has died, and the infection is still there, quietly working its way into the bone. That is how a tooth that could have had a root canal becomes a tooth that has to be removed, so waiting is the expensive option.

What should I do in a dental emergency?

Call us as early as you can. We keep room to see urgent problems as soon as possible during the week, often the same day, so you are not left in pain.

Frequently asked questions

It is the weekend and I am in pain. What should I do?

Call and leave a message rather than assume nothing can be done. We work select Saturdays and we check messages. If you cannot be seen before Monday we will tell you honestly and talk you through managing it until then.

I am not a patient here. Will you still see me?

Yes. You do not need to be an existing patient to be seen in an emergency. Call, describe what is happening, and we will give you the earliest honest answer we can.

Can you get me out of pain today even if the full repair takes longer?

Usually, yes. Getting you comfortable is the first job, and the definitive treatment often follows once swelling or infection has calmed down. We will explain what we are doing today and what still needs to happen.

I am terrified of the dentist and now something has broken. Can you help?

Yes, and tell whoever answers the phone. Being frightened is not something to apologize for here. We will book you accordingly, explain everything before it happens and stop whenever you need us to.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Bring your insurance details, a list of any medication you take, and the broken piece or the tooth if you have it. If you have had recent dental work elsewhere, tell us who did it and when, since it saves guessing.
